I think we’ve all let out a collective exhale now that 2020 is over. If you’re looking for more ways to maintain your zen in 2021, check out these 7 yoga studios in Birmingham. Whether you’re a beginner or are just looking for a new place to put your mat, these spots offer both social distance-friendly and virtual classes with an array of price points so you can perfect your practice.

1. Villager Yoga

Villager Yoga in Cahaba Heights is offering four ways to practice with live-streamed, indoor, outdoor, and pre-recorded classes. From slow flows to prenatal yoga, Villager Yoga offers a variety of class types for any experience level.

2. YogaLab

YogaLab in Downtown Birmingham is open with a limited capacity for people who want to practice in-person. They typically offer two Vinyasa Flow classes each day—one in the morning and one in the evening. They also have on-demand classes you can watch at any time for a fee.

3. Kind Roots Yoga

Kind Roots Yoga is located in Forest Park on the second floor of a historic home. If it’s your first time, you can take advantage of their intro offer and get two classes for $15 or a month unlimited for $75. Currently, they are offering both in-person and virtual classes. 4. The Yoga Circle

The Yoga Circle in Southside is offering a mix of limited in-person and virtual classes including nine different class types for all skill levels. If you’re a beginner, take a look at their class descriptions to find your fit. *Hint: beginner classes are starred.

5. Beacon Yoga

Beacon Yoga in Avondale offers a ton of class types—both in-person and via Zoom—for all levels. Prices range from $10 for a drop-in Zoom class to $133 for a month of unlimited classes.

*Bonus: All classes marked with a star are donation-based to make yoga accessible for all. And they offer a weekly Fellowship Flow class every Sunday at 11AM (also donation-based) where 100% of the proceeds go towards a local family or organization in need of support.

6. Birmingham Yoga

Birmingham Yoga located near Lakeview offers many class types, including virtual/online classes each week, and pricing options, including donation-based Community Classes. They also offer teacher training and have yoga resources on their site so you can learn more about each practice.

7. Abundance Yoga

Abundance Yoga is an inclusive, body-positive yoga studio offering tons of class options from Curvy Yoga to Pilates. Located off Highway 280, they offer a variety of class types and other services including teacher training, body and energy work.
