1. RN, Clinic Nurse—COVID Vaccine Administration, temporary

Job summary: The Clinic Nurse is responsible for providing and managing patient care. These healthcare workers help with COVID-19 vaccine administration. One year of clinical nursing experience is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Degree from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current AL RN license
  • Current CPR certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment)

2. Social Worker, MSW, part-time, weekends

Job summary: Social Worker will provide people, their families or groups with the support needed to cope with various illnesses. This will include advising family caregivers, educating and counseling patients and making referrals for other services. Social Workers may also help with the discharge planning process and finding resources for patients and their families.

3. RN—Testing Site Nurse, full-time, day shift, varying hours

Job summary: Testing Site Nurses test patients referred by another physician or clinic. This also includes patient assessment, education and procedure expectations. These healthcare workers will oversee and resolve any testing issues.

They are provided cooling vests, required rest breaks and more. Three years of clinical nursing experience is preferred.

Job summary: LPNs provide nursing care for patients. They are responsible for orienting patients and family members to their new environment and acting as a patient advocate. LPNs must inform RNs of any problems or changes in patient’s health.

6. Staff Nurse Float Pool, full-time, evening shift, 7AM-7PM M-S

Job summary: Staff Nurse is a professional nurse who assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for patients and families with minimal supervision.

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Job summary: Children’s of Alabama is hiring COVID-19 screeners. Screening Table Clerks perform on-site COVID-19 screening to prevent the spread of the virus throughout the hospital and clinics.

This is an unlicensed medical position. Table Clerks will check for possible infection by asking signs and symptoms questions, using non-contact infrared thermometers and evaluating general appearance aligned with protocols.

Job summary: Transporters are responsible for performing various activities to meet transportation needs in a safe and efficient manner. Previous healthcare experience is preferred. Transporter is a day shift position between 11AM-7:30PM Monday through Friday.

14. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE)

Job summary: SANE workers collect evidence from sexual assault survivors as a part of the sexual assault response team. They provide prophylactic treatment following medical protocol and nursing care as regulated by the AL Board of Nursing and SANE policies.

These healthcare workers must be compassionate and understanding of the emotional and psychological toll of sexual assault on survivors and loved ones. Applicants can expect to work a minimum of two 12 hour shifts a month.

Requirements:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree and one year nursing experience, or Associate’s Degree and three years nursing experience

15. Pharmacist—COVID 19 Vaccine Support, full-time

Job summary: Staff Pharmacist support the Pharmacy Manager and direct the Pharmacy Technician Support Staff. They are also responsible for overseeing the pharmacy. This includes patient safety, customer service, inventory management and more.

Requirements:

  • Active Pharmacy License in AL
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List
  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization, like APhA
  • Free of pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances
