1. Makers Market

More Makers Markets are coming up this November and December at Wild Roast in Hoover. Plan ahead so you can shop some of the coolest items from local artisans and makers from around the greater Birmingham area. Be sure to grab a coffee and pastry while you’re there.

Magic City Art Connection and Moss Rock Festival have created something special for 2020—an all-new hybrid event called MOSS MAGIC.

While this event is filled with all sorts of exciting activities, it’s also an ideal spot to shop local artists and creators for holiday gifts and more.

4. Downtown Homewood Holiday Open House: Market Days

Looking to get that holiday shopping done early this year? Mark your calendar for downtown Homewood’s annual event—Holiday Open House: Market Days.

During this three-day event, visit Homewood’s unique shops for local items and gifts. Live music will take place each day at 3PM on 18th Street South.

Bonus: Send in three receipts from Homewood businesses to the Homewood Chamber of Commerce and be entered to win a gift card to one of Homewood’s coolest shops.

5. Fall Market

Hoover’s Stadium Trace Village is one of the hottest spots for food, drinks and live entertainment. It gets even better on Sunday, November 15 with a Fall Market that includes everything from local artists and entrepreneurs to live music from Birmingham-based funk cover band The Divines.

6. Market Noel

This year’s event will be a one-stop virtual marketplace, so grab your wallet and laptop and prepare for the ultimate online shopping spree.

What’s extra special about this event is that it benefits the Junior League of Birmingham—an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the communities through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

7. Holiday Open House and Auction

For a holiday market that offers a little bit of everything, check out the Holiday Open House Event and Auction on Saturday, November 21.

Benefiting Studio By The Tracks, the event will feature:

  • An Indoor Sale with artwork, ceramics, prints, cards, apparel, masks, pillows, total bags, jewelry + more by artists from the studio.
  • An Outdoor Market highlight 15 local art vendors + food.
  • An Online Art Auction with 35 works of art from donating artists. Access the auction via Studio By The Track’s website November 21-22 between 9AM and 8PM.

It’s time to go “Totally Christmas” with this annual holiday-themed event. Located at the Trussville Civic Center, this year’s event will feature local vendors, boutiques, arts and crafts and more.

10. Holiday Faire Market: An Online Auction benefiting Alabama Waldorf

Education has taken a hit in 2020, so consider supporting a local school during their upcoming fundraisers. One coming up this December is the Holiday Faire Market benefiting Alabama Waldorf School. This is the school’s primary annual fundraiser and this year will be an online auction. So fun!

The auction is free and open to the public and will feature:

  • Jewelry
  • Wellness experiences
  • Services
  • And more!

During the auction, you can also order made-from-scratch soups and sweets. Order in advance for pickup on Saturday, December 5. Menu and order form available Monday, November 2.
