East Lake residents are happy to welcome a new restaurant to the area: The Tavern at East Lake is now open for business. And, they’re having a Grand Opening on September 25 + 26 featuring music and college football.

A locally-owned addition to East Lake

According to the BBJ, Craig Johnson, Stephanie Johnson and Deanna Lane are the restaurant’s owners and David Lane is the property manager. Apparently, after moving to Birmingham from North Carolina in 2012, they’d been watching the city grow. Then, when they bought and renovated a home in East Lake, they got the idea to open The Tavern at East Lake.

The Tavern at East Lake fulfills a unique niche in the community

The vibe is part sports bar, part live music venue and part place to get your karaoke on.

Also, they have food. Lots of tasty food.
