What do you get when you combine bacon, lettuce and tomato? A magical taste explosion, that’s what. Here’s where you can find the ultimate summer sandwich around Birmingham.
1. Ashley Mac’s
Want to add some zing to your BLT? Ashley Mac’s provides just that by combing two Southern favorites into one scrumptious sandwich—the Pimento Cheese BLT.
Piled between two slices of toasted white bread is pimento cheese, bacon, bibb lettuce and tomato.
Want to ditch the bread? The Chopped BLT Salad will blow your mind. (Romain lettuce, bacon, cherry tomatoes, green onions, bleu cheese + blt dressing.)
2. Big Bad Breakfast
No matter what you order off the menu at Big Bad Breakfast, it’s going to be a winner. So if you’re craving a BLT, prepare to devour every single bite.
The question is, will you choose the BLT Omelet or Big Bad BLT.
BLT Omelet: Chopped bacon, spinach, tomatoes and mayo, topped with tomato gravy and ham power + served in a French-style omelet.
Big Bad BLT: BBB bacon, lettuce, tomato + mayo on white or wheat toast. Add an egg or avocado for $1.
3. Great Harvest Bread Co.
I’ve yet to meet anyone who isn’t blown away by the delicious eats at Great Harvest Bread Co. From salads and sandwiches to mouth-watering baked goods, they offer a bit of everything. Yep, that includes a BLT.
Made with fresh, local tomatoes and crisp lettuce and bacon, all you have to do is pick your bread. The decision won’t be easy, though. Great Harvest Bread Co., offers a variety of bread to choose from. The best part—they make it all from scratch daily.
Psst! If you don’t see “BLT” on the menu, don’t fret. It’s considered a “hidden” menu item. Simply ask and you shall receive. Extra cool points for ordering off-menu!
4. Hamburger Heaven
When I asked a local Facebook group for suggestions on where to get the best BLT around Birmingham, I was surprised to see so many people say Hamburger Heaven. For some reason, I never thought about them offering anything other than burgers.
But it turns out, Hamburger Heaven does, in fact, offer a BLT and it’s quite good. Pair it with a side of onion rings for true satisfaction.
