What category would you put food that’s gourmet fancy southern-comfort with a twist into? It’s all uniquely Chef Raquel. She says the food truck will serve mostly specialty sliders and gourmet sides, including items such as crab cakes, chicken and waffles and a 12-hour brisket. We’re headed that way.

With food this good, you’re going to want to head over early because chances are the team will sell out. Expect the drinks to be flowing and music bumping from Black Tie DJ company as Chef Raquel officially launches this new part of her business.

Since the event is outside, there will be plenty of space to maintain social distancing. Bring your mask and bring your appetite.

Why Chef Raquel Ervin is (more than!) kind of a big deal

In addition to owning a successful and highly recommended catering company, Chef Raquel is no stranger to the food scene—both locally and nationally. As a finalist on both the Food Network and The Cooking Channel competitions, she brought national recognition to Birmingham’s thriving culinary scene.

She’s continuing to help different aspects of our city to grow such as being highlighted by Mayor Woodfin for the StrongHER campaign in 2019. The initiative features women making moves to improve the Magic City through their place of employment, community service or school.

“My hope is to expand the current food truck scene by offering something new and unique to entice the foodies! It is my ultimate dream that Birmingham becomes one of the most popular destinations to visit for food in the South.”

As far as the catering company goes

“The catering portion of my company will remain the same and it is in full swing as things are continuing to return to normal. The food truck is phase 2 of the company, and I have rebranded from Panoptic Catering to ‘Eat at Panoptic’ to encompass both entities.”
