As we enter week five or six of social distancing, Birmingham’s local businesses could really use our help during these crazy times. Here are five ways you can help support Iron City, one of Birmingham’s favorite concert venues.

1. Pre-purchase tickets

One thing is for certain—once it’s safe to gather in crowds again, you’ll find me at the next Iron City concert! Although upcoming concerts have been postponed until further notice, you can buy tickets to attend those shows once we’re back to normal. Tickets will all be valid for the new date.

Check out Iron City’s concert calendar to find a show.

2. Purchase an E-Gift Card

Another way you can help out Iron City is by purchasing a gift card. Iron City teamed up with Instagift, instantly-available gift cards that you can print, email or use on your phone.

A portion of the proceeds from gift card sales go directly towards helping the employees of Iron City. Instagift cards are valid for just about anything at Iron City, including:

Until April 30, each gift card purchase comes with a bonus (as a treat). A $50 gift card purchase comes with a bonus $10 gift card, and a $100 gift card purchase comes with an extra $25 gift card.

3. Donate on GoFundMe

In addition, Iron City has also launched a GoFundMe page with the goal of raising $15,000. The money raised will go towards helping the venue and its employees stay afloat while we social distance, so that Iron City can continue to host amazing acts in Birmingham in the future.

4. Tune in to Lockdown Sessions on Facebook

Since we can’t physically get out to concerts, Iron City is bringing the concert to you with Iron City Lockdown Sessions! Keep an eye on their Facebook page, where they will be bringing you live, virtual concerts from local artists.

  • Thursday, April 30 at 8PM — Chat Fisher Trio
  • Friday, May 1 at 8PM — Rumors (Fleetwood Mac cover band)
  • Saturday, May 2 at 8PM — Josh Kinney

5. Support the Team on Social Media

Be sure to stay engaged with Iron City’s social media while we continue to quarantine. You can show your love for Iron City by posting photos of your favorite concerts at the venue throughout the years.
