Here’s the deep dish on the new pizza biz

Mamma mìa, the pizza game is HOT right now in the ‘ham. COVID-19 can take away us socializing with our friends, but it can’t take away pizza —and I think that’s beautiful.

Troup’s Pizza—upcoming

Vestavia is getting a new neighbor next month and its name is Troup’s Pizza. The menu focuses on original recipes, made with locally sourced, high-quality ingredients.

In addition to pizzas, you can expect family-sized meals and make your own pizza kits (with an instructional video on how to properly toss the dough), as well as sandwiches, and other appetizers.

“Our experience and passion for pizza and our love of good food fuels us to create unique dishes that are made fresh, with love in a welcoming environment.

We make our dough by hand daily, we make our own pasta for our dishes, and bake our own bread for our sandwiches every day. Our focus on owning every aspect of service is important to us, and we believe that you’ll be able to taste the difference”

Terrill Brazleton, head chef

Troup’s is opening with carryout only, but they hope to add delivery in the future. The establishment is set to open in late May, depending on the current circumstances.

“We’re most excited about actually hosting people at our restaurant.  Once we are able to resume a sense of normalcy with our day to day routines, we look forward to seeing our neighborhood friends and family members come through our doors and hang out.

IronStone NY Pizzeria—now open

ICYMI,  Teddy Zane and Jennifer Miller, owners of Laster Sundries On Main in Springville, took over the former location of IronStone Pizza in the Homestead Village shopping center. The pizzeria officially opened this month and we can’t wait to head over there and grab a slice.

The location may be the same, but don’t get it twisted, these are not the same eateries. The team is serving up authentic New York pies and slices through delivery and curbside pick-up. Bonus—the pizzeria is currently hiring!
