Wine lovers, get excited: Mobile, AL restaurant and wine bar/shop Red or White Wine & Gourmet Center is expanding to Birmingham! Here’s what we know.

What’s Red or White?

Red or White is a restaurant and wine shop that specializes in a variety of affordable wines. Current locations are in Mobile, Fairhope and the Wharf in Orange Beach, AL.

I’ve been to the location in Mobile and let me tell ya, it’s a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine with friends. The staff is friendly, the wine is delicious and the atmosphere is nice and chill.

Where’s it going?

Red or White will take over the former Whistling Table location on Clairmont Avenue in Forest Park. It’s in good company with other great shops and restaurants in the area like Shoppe, General, Little Savannah, The Rougaroux, Zoe, and Dreamers Supply Co.

Red or White is owned by Randy and Sherri Williams. Randy said they have been looking for a Birmingham location for over a year. An established neighborhood, convenience and access to parking were top on their list of priorities. When the building Forest Park became available, they acted fast.

Amelia Hearin with SRS Real Estate helped them find the space, and Chris Hoyt with Dunn Real Estate (who owns the building) is working with them to adapt it for Red or White.

What’s on the menu?

Williams said the menu will be very similar to the Mobile location.  Red or White features a changing selection of more than a dozen wines by the glass as well as 2 oz taste glasses. You can enjoy your vino alongside Red or White’s cheese boards, pizzas, salads and more. Yum. They also have a special menu for private events.

When will it open?

Red or White is set to open this spring, just in time for rosé season! Can. Not. Wait.
