If you’ve confused the Rotaract Club for the Rotary Club, don’t worry–I did too. It’s actually an honest mistake. Both clubs are similar and very invested in the spirit and community of Birmingham. However, the Rotaract Club is for young professionals, from ages 20 to 35.

The Rotaract Club helps young men and women in Birmingham get involved with their city, network, and have fun while doing it.

In order to support their work throughout Birmingham, the Rotaract Club holds an annual fundraiser gala known as the Foundation Ball. This event is open to the public, so make sure to grab your tickets today!

If you’d like a drink, try the signature cocktails or martini bar-free while they last. In addition, beer and wine will be available at the cash bar. All drinks at the bar will be free from 7PM to 9PM–but you will need to fork up some cash after 9.

P.S. The official afterparty will take place at the Mayawell Bar, one of 2019’s new openings in Lakeview.

All proceeds from the Foundation Ball support the Rotaract Club’s three signature service projects. In 2019, they sold over 560 tickets and brought in over $35,000 in ticket sales and fundraising.

Achieve Alabama is a scholarship database founded by the Rotaract Club of Birmingham, in conjunction with community partners. The program aims to provide a platform for all Alabama high school students to view scholarship opportunities. After just two years, the database already has 27,000 scholarships totaling over $11,000,000,000.

Ready to Succeed is a mentorship program that helps Parker High School students with everything from ACT prep to career counseling.

Ready to Read promotes a love of reading in over 30 second-grade classrooms through the Birmingham City School System. In addition, nearly 40 Rotaract Club members volunteer as reading buddies to these children.
