A guide to the latest in Five Points South, including a ‘90s themed bar and ‘80s chicken joint
Reading time: 4 minutes
Birmingham’s Five Points South is hoppin’ right now. See below for the scoop on all the new eats and recent openings!
Openings
There are two exciting new openings in Five Points Lane—McFly’s and Unplugged. This pairing sounds like every ‘90s kid’s dream come true (yours truly included). Both are a partnership between the former J. Fall Group (Henry Costa and Jeremy Fall) and Orchestra Partners.
McFly’s Bird Shoppe
McFly’s Bird Shoppe offers all sorts of tenders, including chicken, turkey and vegan tenders (that sounds interesting) with crazy good signature sauces like Bloody Mary Ketchup, Queso and Nashville Hot Mayo and sides including tater tots and french fries. You can add flavors to those tots and fries, too.
I really do feel like my childhood is calling—sign me up!
“The constant goal through each of our concepts is to put a new twist on simple comfort food, from breakfast to deli sandwiches. We live in an era where storytelling has become everyone’s MO and dining is a huge part of our lives. I’m a believer that a unique experience doesn’t have to necessarily be expensive and over the top, so I want to give people something different to talk about without the high price tag.”
