How to Help Birmingham Families through Share Thanksgiving with Waitr.

Share Thanksgiving is Waitr’s annual campaign to feed families in need across their 50 markets. And this Thanksgiving, Waitr is partnering with Birmingham restaurants to deliver hot, fresh and free meals to families in need.

They’ll work with local customers, restaurants, and nonprofits to provide Birmingham families with Thanksgiving meals personally delivered by Waitr and Bite Squad employees. During their first year in 2017 they shared over 1,000 meals, and in 2018 they shared 2,000 meals.

This year, they’re aiming to share over 4,000 meals across 50 Waitr and Bite Squad markets. Not only are they hoping to provide families with a meal, but they’re also aiming to give sustainably by “including resources with each meal to ensure that families have access to further assistance even after the holiday.” Pretty cool, right?

Here’s How it Works

All you have to do is place an order with Waitr between now and November 22, and the company will make a donation that goes towards covering the cost of the meals. It’s really that easy.

BONUS: And when you order, make sure to use code “BHAMNOW” to get your food delivered with no delivery fee. It’s a win-win.

Local restaurants will then prepare the meals, and in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, Waitr volunteers will join forces to deliver the meals families. This year, Hattie B’s and Chubbfathers are partnering with Waitr to help provide meals to local families.

“This is our third year doing Share Thanksgiving and every year it’s a way for us to give back to the communities we serve. It’s a really gratifying thing for us to see those smiles and to see those hugs with families. I’ve done it myself, and it’s just such a great feeling to actually give back to the community especially in the Birmingham area.”
