UAB is going all out for their 50th Anniversary! Birmingham is invited to a free concert on UAB’s Campus Green, headlined by rock band Weezer. Find out how to get tickets.
UAB’s 50th Anniversary
In 1969, UAB became its own autonomous university. Now, UAB is celebrating all year long to commemorate 50 years of excellence.
UAB has several events lined up during their Homecoming week from Oct. 13th-19th. Additionally, the UAB Blazers will take on Old Dominion University on Saturday, Oct. 19th at Legion Field.
In addition to the usual Homecoming festivities, the UAB 50 committee had the idea to host a free concert to celebrate the 50th anniversary.
“My thanks to the multiple groups responsible for planning the various events we have had happening throughout the year to celebrate. Their work embodies the UAB shared value of collaboration, and will prove to be an event to remember for years to come.”
UAB President Ray Watts
