Roots and Revelry is a top brunch choice if you dig an elegant, yet casual dining style and a menu rich in local and seasonal ingredients.
On the menu, you’ll find a mix of brunch classics with a Roots & Revelry twist.
Start of your meal with an appetizer like avocado toast made with lime, cilantro, quest fresco, pickled onion and olive oil ($8), or the macadamia beignets with cardamom, orange zest, cinnamon and raspberry cream ($7).
Feeling lunchy? Consider a shrimp or oyster po-boy with lettuce, caper-dill aioli and garlic fries. ($16).
For the ultimate combo of breakfast and lunch, I suggest the R&R Breakfast.

Big Bad Breakfast
I’ve only managed one visit to Big Bad Breakfast and I can honestly say that the taste of their incredible pancakes actually wander into my daydreams more often than I’d like to admit.
What makes it so good? A chill atmosphere, local ingredients and delicious made-from-scratch food.
Here are some menu items that show just how tasty BBB is:
Veggie Omelet: mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach and goat cheese. Served with tossed greens and fries.

Big Bad Breakfast: three eggs scrambled, bacon, sausage, ham, onions, potatoes and cheddar cheese.

Flapjacks: three fluffy, tangy, buttermilk pancakes with a hint of vanilla, served with BBB’s house syrup. Served with your choice of meat.

You’ll find lines out the door at this popular dive in Downtown Birmingham. Here’s why:
- Meals are home-cooked and made fresh and from scratch.

My favorite reason: it’s mmm, mmm, good!
On the menu, you’ll find everything from omelettes and shrimp and grits to pancakes and biscuits.
The winning menu item at Yo Mama’s, though, is the chicken and waffles.
Description: Belgian waffles with homemade syrup topped with six fried chicken wings. Fruit toppings (strawberries and blueberries) can be added.
