About Hand In Paw
Hand in Paw is a nonprofit organization, and is Alabama’s premier animal-assisted therapy provider. Their mission: to improve human health and well-being through animal-assisted therapy.
Their services help a variety of people, including:
- Children with special needs
- At-risk youth
- Struggling students
- People with chronic and terminal illnesses
Hand in Paw has even been recognized as one of the most innovative and best animal-assisted therapy programs in the country. Talk about paw-some!
A Unique Fundraiser
Picasso Pets is Hand in Paws largest annual fundraisers. All proceeds from the event go to a great cause—helping Hand in Paw carry out their mission to improve human health and well-being through animal-assisted therapy. The fundraiser allows them to continue providing their services free of charge.

During Picasso Pets, you’ll have the chance to:
- Bid in a silent auction
- Mingle with star special therapy animals
- Sip craft beer, wine and signature cocktails
- Dine on a delicious seated dinner
- Take part in an exciting live auction
But the night gets even cooler with the debut of paintings created through the collaboration of local artists and the pets of Hand in Paw supporters.
Artists working alongside kitty paws and puppy dog tails to create artwork? It couldn’t get any sweeter!
