If you’ve ever found yourself thinking Bham Nowers seem to have the best job ever, you are correct. Hanging out with Asher for the morning is the best start to any day. Photo by Matthew Niblett for Bham Now.

The owners of Slate Barganier in Birmingham, Alabama are not your average homebuilders. They had a vision. We got behind the scenes to meet the team and learn what they’re about. The most adorable member? Asher, the fluffy Australian Shepard. Feast your eyes on their designs.

A Vision for Something Different

Slate Barganier was founded in 2011 by Tison Barganier and Cameron Eaton. Both men are licensed homebuilders who founded construction companies of their own, before using their extensive experience and shared vision to create Slate Barganier.

While there’s clearly a Mr. Barganier in the mix here, you may notice there’s no “Mr. Slate.” The first part of the name comes from co-founder Cameron Eaton’s former construction company name: The Slate Group Inc.

Let me just tell y’all– these guys know what they’re doing. Even their office is stunning. The first time I stopped by to meet the team, I kept getting distracted by the background slideshow of their work. I mean, these kitchens. These bathrooms. These exteriors. I think I was drooling at one point.

You can check out some of these photos and see their work for yourself. Slate Barganier builds truly beautiful homes and home renovations. However, that’s not what makes them so special.

If you’re looking for a “one size fits all” approach, you won’t find it here.

Priorities in Place

Any home renovation is a project with high stakes, and building a home is one of the biggest investments you can make. Selecting a company that is worthy of that investment can be a hard decision. You have to be able to trust that whoever you hire is carrying out your vision, and doing it well. That’s where Slate Barganier comes in.

“We believe the working relationship is the most important ingredient in every project.  While homes are made of bricks and mortar, relationships are formed from stronger materials – namely trust and integrity.  We must provide solutions, not problems.  We must be proactive to remain within budget and on schedule.  Most of all, our word should be the footing of every project.  We should offer assurances, not excuses, in the construction of every project, giving our clients absolute confidence in a successful outcome.”

Founded by two Alabama natives, this is a company that has been committed to community since day one. They take the time to truly build relationships with clients- in fact, that idea is what the company was founded upon.

Meet the Team!

Don’t miss their restaurant recommendations- after looking them all up, I definitely found a few I wanted to try. The whole Slate Barganier team was so friendly and welcoming, but I have to admit, the last guy was my favorite.
