A night of art, music, food and drinks, what more could anyone want? Art on the Rocks is coming back for its second event of the summer.

From being able to paint a mural to watching live artist demonstrations, Art on the Rocks has no shortage of fun. Get your tickets now!

The July Art On The Rock’s theme is Fluid Fashion, encouraging guests to express themselves beyond traditional fashion boundaries. Check out this video to learn more about What to Wear: Fluid Fashion.

What to expect this month:

Artist Demo with Kevin McLean

  • When: 7-10PM
  • Where: Sculture Garden 
  • Kevin McLean studied classics and sculpture at the College of Charleston. But it was his time spent working in a historic naval warehouse that inspired the hard edges, rough textures, and severe forms in his work. Watch as he creates a beautiful sculpture before your eyes.

DIVAZ Fashion Drag Show

  • When: 8:30-9:15PM
  • Where: Waterfall at Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage 
  • We’ve got some of Birmingham’s fiercest and finest queens coming out to entertain guests with a series of glamorous performances. Featuring the best of Birmingham: Reese, Sharon, Kharris, and Ceazia.

Alabama Dance World Performance

  • Show 1:
    • When: 8-8:30PM
    • Where: Jemison Galleries
    •  This hip-hop dance collective pushes the boundaries of street dance with their body-bending moves and creative choreography. Feeding off energy from the audience, this talented dance group will bring the house down. 
  • Show 2:
    • When: 9-9:30PM
    • Where: Jemison Galleries
    • Check out another street dance performance that will warm up the crowd before the band hits the stage.

Garden Lounge

  • The 2019 season of Art On The Rocks is inspired by the exhibition Ways of Seeing: Fashion, which explores how fashion has been documented over the years through art. Don’t miss the fashion photo booth at the end of the exhibition hallway.

  • DJ Gorgeous keeps the party going inside all night long, spinning fresh beats that keep the energy high and hearts pumping.

Durand Jones & The Indications

  • Kicking off its national tour to promote a brand new album, Durand Jones and the Indications will offer an aesthetic steeped in the golden, strings-infused dreaminess of early ‘70s soul.

#AfterRocks after party

  • Where: Paper Doll 
  • The party doesn’t end here! Head to #AfterRocks at Paper Doll, the official Art On The Rocks after party and the hottest bar in town. Show your Art On The Rocks wristband for free entry.

Next month is the last event of the 2019 season on August 9. The featured artist will be Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears.
