Free doughnuts anyone?! Facebook will be heading to Hero Doughnuts in Homewood this Friday, May 10! They’ll be giving away FREE doughnuts starting at 10AM to celebrate the launch of a new Facebook feature, birthday stories!

Hero Doughnuts is one of 50 bakeries across the country—and the only bakery in Alabama—who Facebook will be visiting to promote and celebrate the launch. Local representatives from Facebook will be on site to give visitors a first look at the feature, as well as one free doughnut per customer while supplies last.
Birthday stories is a new type of story where friends and family can add digital birthday cards, photos or videos to a story to celebrate your birthday. According to a Tech Crunch story published last year, the new feature was briefly mentioned during the keynote address at Facebook’s F8 developer conference last May.
Not much has been released about the feature, so I guess we’ll have to stop by Hero this Friday to check it out—Keep an eye out for Bham Nowers!
