RECAP: CahaBAZAAR at Cahaba Brewing Company
Reading time: 3 minutes
On December 8, we went out to CahaBAZAAR Holiday Market at Cahaba Brewing Company which is a day of family fun, local artist and makers, food and beer. A place where you can get all of your holiday shopping done in one place.
We first ran into Christopher Funderburk, who is the owner of Infinite Soaps, a local business with two retail locations in Birmingham that creates lye soap and other natural skincare products.
Leldon Maxcy’s Wooden Art was at the event and you can find more of their work at Good People Brewing of a 2 feet tall by 8 feet cutout of Alabama that took Mr. Maxcy 80 hours to complete!
Jessica Cohen creates original paintings, printing and cards where she is inspired by nature. Check her out on Instagram, @artbyjessicacohen
We spotted Mattox Knives at CahaBAZAAR yesterday, which has stunning hand-crafted knives. You can find more on his Instagram @mattoxknives
We met up with Roger Torbert who creates unique paper weaving and collages. In his work, Mr. Torbert takes things that he finds old and new; for example, a dictionary. He re-imagines them to create designs, patterns, and shapes that tell a new story.
“A story with a nod of respect to the past object and a bold assertion of something new” – Roger Torbert
In 2015, Kaitlin started creating art for family and friends and she has grown substantially since then, making her mark in Birmingham. Kaitlin is very invested in her local community, so be sure to catch her artwork at local art shows. You can also find her artwork in retailers around Birmingham.
