Mayor Woodfin attended the awards ceremony to honor the 13 award honorees. He himself was a Vulcans Community Awards honoree back in 2014 when we was awarded the title of Game Changer. Here’s what he had to say:

… I have a personal appreciation for the efforts of the individuals honored this evening. Vulcan was a working god, and in his pose with outstretched arm, he inspects his handiwork to ensure that the spear he has forged is straight and true. In their many accomplishments, tonight’s honorees embody Vulcan’s inspirational work ethic — to seek their full potential as individuals in service to the broader community.

It was a beautiful event, and a wonderful way for the community to come together to honor hardworking members of Birmingham. Those who attended were able to learn more about the honorees and gain in-depth knowledge about what they are doing in our communities.

“I am honored to be in the presence of individuals who have given their time, talent and resources to the Birmingham region who, like Vulcan, inspire others to truly make a difference.” – Mayor Woodfin
