3 Things you missed out on if you didn’t make it to Trucks by the Tracks, including puppies eating ice cream
Reading time: 4 minutes
If you didn’t make it out to Trucks by the Tracks at Railroad Park yesterday, you missed out on a great day in Birmingham. The park was set up with 3 different zones. Each zone was packed with food trucks, drink stands and other fun tents.
A Great Family Day in Birmingham
There was a stage set up in the center of the park where live bands played throughout the day and a VIP area off the side as well. Families and friends lounged in the grass, looking for any shade they could find for a break from the heat. The park was full of dogs, kids running around and a bunch of Birmingham residents out and about for a full day of food and fun.
We got there around noon and it was packed. Both sides of 17th Street were lined end-to-end with a wide variety food trucks — we had to walk up and down a few times before I could even decide what I wanted to eat! A trip over to the bar area was needed for a cool drink on such a hot day. It was set up with local beers from Good People, Cathead vodka, sangria, wine and more options.
Amidst all the food trucks was Fetch, which is a dog-friendly food truck. The truck had a fake turf mat that all the dogs were loving as a break from the hot concrete road. They had water bowls out as well as treats like “Pupcakes” and “Peanut Butter Pawiches.”
Lunchtime at Eugene’s Hot Chicken
We headed down to Eugene’s Hot Chicken for chicken and fresh french fries! The food was amazing — just the right amount of heat. (We opted for the “Hot” option and it was delicious!)
More Drumline, Please
The Huffman High School drumline came out and performed a fantastic and entertaining show for everyone at the festival. The group marched in through the crowd and put on an outstanding and fun performance for everyone in attendance!
If You Have A Dog, Get Them This Ice Cream
Did I mention that Fetch had doggie ice cream for sale? It came in an edible cup and they had flavors like peanut butter and maple bacon. Check out this pup loving his peanut butter ice cream treat!
