Want to experience Birmingham in a brand new way? Discover it on two wheels with these nine local cycling groups in the Magic City.
Le Tour de Ham
Created by Stan Palla and Vero Vanblaere, Le Tour de Ham began as a casual three-four person bike ride and has grown into one of the largest weekly bike rides in Alabama – topping out at around 150 bikers!
During this weekly ride, you’ll venture through the eclectic, bohemian and fun parts of the Magic City, gaining friendships along the way. Even better, there’s no spandex required!
When: Tuesdays at 6pm
Ride begins at: Rozar’s Auto Paint Supply. 3005 6th Ave S., Birmingham, AL 35233
Ride ends at: Brat Brot. 2910 6th Ave S., Birmingham, AL 35233 (Riders get a 10% discount after the ride.)
Duration: 10-12 miles
Experience Level: Beginner/No drop ride (no rider left behind). Slowest rider sets the pace.

Le Tour de Ramblingham
Hosted by Le Tour de Ham, the Le Tour de Ramblingham will roam via bicycle around a 10-12 mile loop through the Magic City.
When: Tuesdays at 6pm
Ride begins and ends at: Tropicaleo in Avondale.
Duration: 10-12 miles
Experience Level: All bikes and abilities welcome.

Saturday Stroll
Tour de Le Ham also hosts a second ride called Saturday Stroll, which has been lead by Daniel Webb since 2016. This group rides year round and typically sees 30-40 cyclists per ride.
When: Saturdays at 9:30am
Where: Uptown Birmingham
Experience Level: Beginner. This is a no drop ride (no rider left behind). Slowest rider sets the pace.

Cycle Bham
This cool group is led by David Hogan, cycle enthusiast and host of the Cycling Talk weekly podcast in Birmingham.
Cycle Bham is the perfect choice for inexperienced riders to become familiar with group cycling.
When: Mondays at 6:15pm

Dirty Thursdee NIGHT Ride
Head to Oak Mountain State park and join the Dirty Thursdee Night Ride. Hosted by Cahaba Cycles, you’ll put your skills to the test on trails that are perfect for a nighttime adventure. Afterwards, head to a local Mexican restaurant for an after-ride hangout.
When: Thursdays at 5:30pm

Magic City Cycle Chix
Founded in 2011, Magic City Cycle Chix is a grass-roots group of bike-minded gals who love cycling. If you’re a female who’s passionate about cycling, then this group may just be for you!

Birmingham Bicycle Club
The Birmingham Bicycle Club has been a lead cycling group in Birmingham for over 40 years. In fact, they are gearing up for their 45th Annual Century coming up this September.
Starting out as a small group of cyclists, the group has continued to grow over the years and has formed into a cycling community that promotes safe cycling for fitness and recreation for people of all ages.

Birmingham Urban Mountain Pedalers (BUMP)
Do you have a passion for riding? Do you have the wisdom to know you can’t take trails and parks for granted? Then you’ll love being a part of Birmingham urban Mountain Pedalers (BUMP).
BUMP’s mission is to build, preserve, maintain and ride trail located in Birmingham and surrounding areas. Members of BUMP help keep trails in great shape and open to mountain bikers so everyone can enjoy cycling.
Since 1994, BUMP has gained and maintained access to Oak Mountain State Park, Tannehill State Park and Trussville Sports Complex. They also built miles of new trails, maintained relationships with land managers and state/local governments necessary to maintain trail access.

Trample is a social bike ride that is great for meeting new friends and getting some exercise. The bike route also changes weekly, so you’ll never get bored!
