Summertime is made for outdoor entertainment – especially movies on the big screen. Here’s where you can find outdoor flicks around Birmingham all summer long! 

Movie on the Lawn – Trussville

In the mood for dinner and a movie? Then Movie on the Lawn in Trussville may be for you – and the whole family! This casual, fun night will feature a movie under the stars and tasty meals and treats from a variety of food trucks.

Movies at Avondale and Crestwood Parks

It’s hard to resist the charm of Avondale and Crestwood, especially on a gorgeous summer night in the park. (This year’s movie lineup is my personal fave!)

Movies in the Park – Alabaster

Four great family-friendly movies will be playing at Veterans Park in Alabaster this summer, so be sure to join in on the fun. Don’t forget to bring blankets, chairs, snacks and drinks for ultimate enjoyment!

What sweeter spot to watch a movie outdoors than at Birmingham’s gorgeous, flower-infused Botanical Gardens? There will be two movie showings this summer, so bring a blanket and enjoy some flicks among the flowers. (No pets or outside alcoholic beverages allowed.)

Free Friday Flicks – Hoover

Enjoy family-friendly films all summer long at Free Friday Flicks in Hoover. There will be great movies, vendors and more!

Don’t forget to come early to have a picnic or opt for Little Caesars pizza and drinks available for purchase. Kids will also have a blast at the exciting activities at the kids zone.

Coyote Drive-In Leeds

All of the outdoor movies mentioned so far have been located at local parks around town. But we can’t leave out one of the ultimate outdoor movie experiences there is – the drive-in movie. Sure, you can sit in the car to watch the show if you choose, but on a warm summer night, you can also take your viewing outside.

Whether you choose to watch the movie on a blanket, in a ballpark chair or in the back of your pickup truck, a night at the Coyote Drive-In in Leeds is always a good time.
