This year, St. Patrick’s Day falls on Saturday, March 17, the perfect day to get in the Irish spirit, wear some green and maybe even find that pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. And once again, Birmingham is gearing up for a week full of events so you can Shamrock your socks off all week long!
3rd Annual Irish Flag Raising and The Great Birmingham Irish Toast
Kick off the St. Patrick’s Celebration with the 3rd Annual Irish Flag Raising. Led by the Birmingham Irish Cultural Society, the ceremony will feature a pipe and drum performance, the Birmingham Police Dept. Drill Team and an Irish blessing from the local Irish community.
Following the flag raising, head to Brennan’s Irish Pub for an Irish Blessing for Birmingham’s largest St. Paddy’s toast.

6th Annual Shamrock Shindig
Get in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit and show your support for the Arc of Central Alabama Junior Board at the 6th Annual Shamrock Shindig at Iron City. This is a fundraising event and is a terrific way to show your support!

34th Annual St. Patrick’s Parade (and day events)
Begin your St. Paddy’s celebration off right with the 34th Annual St. Patrick’s Day parade led by the Ian Sturrock Memorial Pipe Band.
The parade is only part of the fun on this lucky, spirit-filled day. Stay after the parade and grab lunch, dinner and drinks from any of the participating merchants who will be offering Irish food and drink specials all day long. Live music and entertainment will also be available at 11 different venues from 11am-11pm.
Be sure to swing the kids by the Chick-Fil-A Lucky Zone from 11am-1pm before the parade for some extra fun.
