Celebrate National Chocolate Day with tasty Birmingham treats
Reading time: 3 minutes
It’s the most healthy, most delicious national holiday of they year. Only half of that statement is a fib.
Stop by any (or all – make a game of it!) of these local Birmingham spots to celebrate National Chocolate Day.
We’ve got places with cold chocolate, warm chocolate, and even chocolate that will get you tipsy.
For the classic chocolate lover
They’ve got truffles, chocolate bars, pralines, chocolate covered apples, marshmallow pops… You name, they’ve got it. And they’ve got a great location right in Railroad Park.
Get the Baby Bites (pictured). They’ll change your life. But if you aren’t ready for that type of commitment, classics like cake and cupcakes are good choices, too.
If cookies are more your style
My personal favorite. Get a Presidential Chocolate Chip and this will be your new go-to. Crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside.
Hey, they deliver.
If you like your chocolate cold
Choose from ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, malts, shakes, floats… Did I miss anything?
There’s always the original creamy chocolate pop, but with the new addition of toppings, you can pretty much have a chocolate overdose if you so please.
Crestwood Pharmacy & Soda Fountain
Share an ever-so-classic chocolate shake with a date. That’s what your grandparents used to do at soda fountains, after all.
If you want to drink your chocolate in alcohol form
Grab a Chocolate Martini from one of the most delicious and awarded restaurants in Birmingham. Also, take a photo of it because I couldn’t find one anywhere.
Order a Chocolate Martini and enjoy it in cool atmosphere on Cobb Lane.
Get the Bushwacker. I’m not sure exactly what all is in it, but it’s basically a chocolate shake with rum, vodka, Bailey’s and Kahlúa.
