Alabama Launchpad Startup Competition is Nov. 15th: FOUR startups are from Birmingham

You could say we’re a little proud that FOUR out of the six startups in this year’s Alabama Launchpad Startup Competition are from Birmingham.  See the finalists for the competition on Nov. 15th here.

Alabama Launchpad

Alabama Launchpad serves as the state’s largest seed fund for startups.   They help keep growing businesses in Alabama and support entrepreneurs across the state.

The Launchpad project is the brainchild of EDPA (the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama) which helps the Alabama’s economic growth.

Alabama Launchpad’s Startup Competition Finale gives six startup finalists 5 minutes to pitch their business to judges for the chance to win investments of either $50,000 or $150,000.

The Finalists

The finalists will compete in one of two categories: as a concept stage for entrepreneurs launching businesses or as a seed stage startup accelerating growth.

The three concept stage startup finalists are:

  • Axle Advertisements: Birmingham, AL

Samford grad Drew Jackson started Axle Advertisements which allows carriers to earn money by advertising on the exterior of their trailers. Go Bulldogs.

  • Cycle Rate Performance: Huntsville, AL

This startup offers software solutions aimed at streamlining the material flow towards construction projects.  Construction firms of Alabama, we’re looking at you.

  • Edify Online Corporation: Birmingham, AL

Edify Online Corp. helps the exchange of independent teaching talents from universities and communities that work together to achieve important milestones for higher education students.

We all know how Bham loves its very own Urban Cookhouse. Owner Andrea Snyder will be pitching her new concept, Farm Bowl & Juice Co. which will serve delicious plant-based nutrition in the form of smoothies, cold-pressed juices and acai bowls.

This Bham startup gives innovative college athletic programs with critical social media tools to empower their student-athletes to be brand ambassadors on social media.

This startup provides an online portal that matches physicians and facilities based on proposals physicians submit.

The Startup Competition Finale is Nov. 15th @ Iron City

Not only will the Launchpad Startup Competition support startups, but there will be food, live music, and a panel on entrepreneurship at the amazing Iron City.
