Reading time: 4 minutes
Now that summer has rolled around, it’s time to get outside. Birmingham offers great restaurants for you to enjoy the great weather and eat some amazing food at the same time. Don’t miss out on these great patio dining experiences in your backyard!
Carrigan’s Public House
On historic Morris Avenue, Carrigan’s has made a name for itself in Birmingham with its wide selection of craft beers and its delicious bar food. Throw in its amazing rooftop atmosphere and you can’t beat this great option for eating outside this summer.
Try their old fashioned cocktails on Tuesday from 4-9 pm for just $5. Aren’t there corn dogs the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen?
Real & Rosemary
This trendy new spot is not only known for its great salads and sandwiches but also its beautiful design and amazing porch sitting area.
The Real part of their name comes from their dedication to using only the freshest ingredients in their dishes. Their delicious meals are simple enough for young and old to enjoy together.
Try their southwest salad or their meatball sandwich on a beautiful day this summer! Is your mouth watering? Take a closer look at their menu.
Babalu
In the bustling Lakeview District, Babalu offers a wide selection of tacos and tapas to its customers. I was so excited to go for the first time recently and they did not disappoint!
Babalu offers a fun and friendly environment to its customers. Try sitting on their patio before an event at the Avon Theatre. They make their guac tableside and their Baba burger is a favorite.
Wasabi Juans
Tucked away in Avondale, this massively popular restaurant is home to the famous sushi burrito that we all know and love. I didn’t understand it before I tried it but trust me, try the steak and shrimp Toro and their amazing 4:20 nachos and you’ll understand.
Their back deck in the summer is private enough for a fun dinner with friends but gives a unique atmosphere that lets you listen to the great bands at Avondale Brewing. Check out their new location coming soon!
Roots & Revelry
Brandon Cain of Saw’s Soul Kitchen and Post Office Pies is changing the food scene in Birmingham with his fun, energetic twist on American cuisine. Definitely the winner of the most historic building on this list, Roots & Revelry made its debut in the Thomas Jefferson Tower just last February and people can’t stop talking about it. Built in 1929 as a hotel, the Thomas Jefferson Tower is located in the heart of downtown and was just recently renovated.
Their menu includes fun appetizers like popcorn and daily bites dreamed up by their culinary team. Try their street tacos or pork inihaw for lunch or dinner and then leave room for one of their amazing desserts like their sweet and spicy churro and their creme brulee semifreddo!
