You don’t have to fly to California to learn about wine. Although Bham is home to quite a few premier wine shops, real wineries exist extremely close by. Check out these wineries where you can get your wine tasting fix.

Vizzini Farms Winery

This 12-year-old Alabama winery was founded in 2005 by the Vizzina family. They steadily increased their wine wares from the well-known muscadine wines to their very own Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and even Chardonnay. With over 10 different wines you will definitely get your taste of Vizzini’s best. The winery also has a yummy bistro so you can enjoy a bite to eat after your wine tasting fun.

Morgan Creek Winery

Address: 181 Morgan Creek Lane, Harpersville, Alabama 35078

This unique winery in Harpersville, AL, has created a niche market for themselves. Not only do they offer wine tastings and tours they are a go-to destination for weddings and other group events. Spend a day at Morgan Creek Winery and try out their several semi-sweet to sweetish wines that are all made from Muscadine grapes. From Monday through Saturday, you can enjoy their complimentary tour and tasting from 10am to 6pm.

Ozan Winery

Address: 173 Co Rd 301, Calera, AL 35040

Located between Birmingham and Montgomery, this scenic vineyard and winery is a great stop for some Alabama wine. This wine tasting includes more than just some great wines. Every Saturday at noon, enjoy a souvenir wine tasting, that includes an Ozan box lunch as well as a Train excursion through the vineyard. You’ll get the chance to try their 15 different wines to find your favorite Alabama wine.

Long story short, Alabama has a wine country for you to explore, Bham.
