Not even 28-degree weather could stand in this school’s way towards growth and innovation. This morning, at 10am, UAB’s Collat School of Business hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of a new era.
The event included a Welcome and Opening by the President Ray L. Watts where he shared his excitement for the future and his push for a well-rounded university. Donor recognition and Building Impact was handled by Dr. Eric P. Jack, the dean of the UAB Collat School of Business. He announced the breathtaking $10 million raised for the completion of the project and highlighted the many amazing advances this new building will bring into the lives of UAB students.
Some of the many donors for the project included Kassouf and Co, Regions Bank, O’Neal Industries, Mayer Electric Co, Joy & Bill Foundation and Coca-Cola Bottling Company United.
The building will be located along the north side of University Boulevard between 12th and 13th streets south and will have an array of new amenities for students and faculty alike.
