Responsibilities:
• Provide the highest level of service to United Way’s major donors through the continuous
improvement of efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness.
• Recruit, train, and support major donor volunteers and volunteer committees.
• Manage membership in Tocqueville Society including stewardship of and relationships
with current members, and solicitation of new members.
• In collaboration with the finance and corporate relations departments, manage the donor
database to maintain and ensure accuracy of information.
• Prospect for both new and existing donors with the capacity and/or propensity to increase
their current level of giving.
• Work with other departments to achieve coordination of activities.
• Prepare required fundraising reports for volunteers and organizational leaders
• Act as United Way representative at various corporate and community events.
• Support the Major Gifts team by assisting with correspondence, events, and day-to-day operations.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the community’s economic and social forces as they
pertain to the stability and growth of the Major Gifts Division.
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills
• Ability to build and manage relationships with high-net worth individuals, families, and
business leaders.
• Excellence in written and oral communications.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in database management utilization.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office

Education:
Undergraduate degree required

Experience:
Two to five years of successful fund-raising experience with a United Way or other fund-raising
organization preferred. Major donor experience preferred.

Required:
Reliable transportation, proof of automobile insurance and valid driver’s license

Working Conditions:
Normal office environment which involves some travel and occasional overtime
