Join Our Team as an Accounting & Grants Specialist!

Responsibilities
- Prepare, track and monitor POs
- Reconcile A/R accounts
- Run reports in MIP or Microix that summarize general ledger activity
- Prepare journal entries, adjusting entries, and maintain proper documentation
- Prepare monthly invoices for grant reimbursements
- Assist with grant closing procedures
- Prepare budgets working in collaboration with other departments
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills
Working knowledge of accounting principles. Ability to understand and follow federal accounting regulations. Computer proficiency with Word and Excel applications. Computer efficiency with PDF files as well as fund accounting software. Ability to perform effectively as a team player.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. Business Degree preferred. Two years’ experience in accounting field preferred.
Working Conditions:
Normal office hours with some occasional overtime.
Other:
Valid Alabama driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of automobile insurance to commensurate with state law, background checks to include but not limited to criminal record and drug screening.
