211 Resource and Transportation Coordinator

As the 211 Transportation and Resource Coordinator, you will connect clients to essential transportation through the Ride United Transportation Assistance Program while providing compassionate support, reliable information, and referrals to essential community resources through UWCA’s 211 Response Center.

Job Summary

Will support Community Initiatives direct service clients by coordinating transportation through the Ride United Transportation Assistance Program. In addition, this role will provide high-quality customer service, accurate information, and timely referrals to community resources via the United Way of Central Alabama (UWCA) 211 Response Center.

Responsibilities

  • Assist UWCA Community Initiatives direct service clients in need of transportation by facilitating rides through the Ride United Lyft Concierge portal and Lyft passes.
  • Assess caller’s challenges and determine appropriate community-based services/referrals.Obtain Inform USA Community Resource Specialist Certification within 18 months of employment.
  • Maintain records of all inquiries, including source of referral, description of problems and disposition of cases.
  • Ensure Lyft rides are provided for approved ride uses and stay within pre-determined ride costs.
  • Capture required client demographics for each rider and maintain.
  • Lyft tracking log in detail.
  • Attend monthly and quarterly UWW Ride United calls.
  • Ensure monthly ride target is met.Submit monthly Purchase order for Lyft Invoice Provide monthly client data and ride costs to applicable Community Initiative programs.
  • Ensure services offered are in compliance with direct service standards & grant requirements.
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with partner agencies that provide transportation services as well as refer clients to Ride United.
  • Engage in outreach and public speaking on behalf of the Ride United Transportation Assistance Program

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills                

Knowledge of human service terminology

Knowledge of area transportation resources a plus

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people and organizations

Demonstrated experience in working with culturally diverse populations (seniors, immigrants, people of varied ethnicities and religions)

Proven ability to type accurately and enter data into a database

Experience with Microsoft Suites

Education/ Experience

Bachelor of Social Work or related degree in a human services field

Minimum of 2 years’ experience

Requirements:

Valid Alabama driver’s license

Reliable transportation

Proof of automobile insurance commensurate with State law

Background checks to include but not limited to criminal record and drug screen

Normal office environment

Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to be insured by UWCA’s insurance
