Nights in Havana- cooking class
University Pickers – Huntsville 3405 Triana Blvd sw, Huntsville, AL, United States“A night in Havana” with Havanabama is a part interactive/part demonstration Cuban cooking class, taught by owner and chef, Mrs. Karlene Athena Nazario. Your experience starts with Cuban appetizers. For this interactive part of the night, Karlene will teach you how to make Cuban croquetas de jamon, and empanadas de carne, while sampling Malta. Your main course will include Pollo empanizado, which is a Cuban version of a Schnitzel. Your meal will be served with white rice, black beans and a side of sweet plantains, while accompanied with a Cuban soda, Jupina. After the main course, you will be served with the iconic pair of creamy Cuban flan and sweet cafecito, Cuban style espresso. While you dine, Karlene will share stories about Cuba, answer any questions you have, teach you Cuban words/phrases and pass on tips and demonstrate on how to make this meal at home. This 1.5-hour event includes… * Part interactive/part demonstration. * Appetizer, Cuban soda, main course, dessert, and cafecito. * Cuban stories, tips and tricks and recipes to use for later.
