Vins de Lieu Pop-Up at Current Charcoal Grill

The team from Vins de Lieu is popping up on Current Charcoal Grill’s back patio on Wednesday, April 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. for a happy hour featuring authentic imported wines, a curated menu from Current’s executive chef-partner Luke Joseph, and DJ Suaze spinning funk, jazz, and soul. Driven by a desire for deeper connections with winemakers, Vins de Lieu sources small but mighty producers and brings their stories to the U.S. market. The happy hour will feature a wine menu selected to pair with a special food offering from Current’s kitchen, including grilled sourdough flatbread with miso butter and scallions; kombu-cured red snapper with ginger dressing and fennel; raw yellowfin tuna with yuzu kosho, shiso, pickled ginger, and nori cracker; steak tartare with gochujang, sesame leaf, aioli, and puffed rice crackers; and a New England-style shrimp roll with gem lettuce, Marie Rose sauce, and a warm shokupan bun. Featured wines include Avis de Tempête Chenin Blanc 2022, Kaban Muscat 2023, and La Dernière Goutte Frenche Ton Gamay. No reservations will be taken for the patio during the event—guests are welcome to drop in and come and go throughout the afternoon.
