Stop, Drop and Connect: A New Way To Handle Big Behaviors with Barb Clark

July 23, 2026 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Stop, Drop and Connect: A New Way To Handle Big Behaviors with Barb Clark
Raging. Lying. Stealing. What if these behaviors aren’t simply “bad behavior”… but signs of something deeper? When parenting or working with children impacted by trauma, loss, or neurodiversity, traditional discipline strategies often miss the mark. Consequences, lectures, and reward charts may actually escalate stress instead of building safety. Learning how to stop, drop and connect through these moments can change everything. That’s why this training matters.
Join APAC on July 23rd for a powerful day of learning with Barb Clark, as she explores a trauma-responsive, connection-centered approach to understanding challenging behaviors in children and teens.
You’ll learn how to:
* Understand how trauma impacts behavior & emotional regulation
* Respond to raging, lying, and stealing through a brain-based lens
* Better understand confabulation and perceived dishonesty
* Use practical strategies that reduce power struggles and build trust
Often the best question to ask isn’t, “What’s wrong with this child?” We should pause to ask, “What happened to this child—and what do they need right now?”
