Silver, Jewelry, and Gemstones: A Global Story

Drop by the BMA for a midday art fix! This special hour-long ArtBreak will be led by Avani Patel of Avani Rupa Fine Jewelers in Mountain Brook Village. Patel, GIA Graduate Gemologist and Jewelry Designer, will begin the program with a discussion of her process of sketching, design, and gem sourcing, as well as the ways in which she mixes modern and Old World aesthetics. She will then lead participants on a special tour of the exhibition Silver & Ceremony from Southern Asia, 1830–1930, sharing her unique insights into form and craftsmanship, then and now.
