Racing for Children’s 2025 Car Reveal

March 9, 2025 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Racing for Children’s, a leader in blending motorsports excitement with philanthropy, is thrilled to announce an exclusive car reveal event that will not only showcase their latest race car but also introduce their 2025 Carrera Cup North America season driver and 2025 Honorary Crew Chiefs.

Established in the late 2000’s by Birmingham-area motorsports enthusiasts at Barber Motorsports Park, Racing for Children’s volunteer-based organization is on a mission to raise awareness and research funds to enable every child to win their race against childhood cancers and blood disorders. Each year this organization champions the cause of kids being cared for by Children’s of Alabama during the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix, with the support of the community, presenting sponsor Medical Properties Trust and team partner Kellymoss, Inc. by hosting a fundraising dinner and a weekend of special events at Barber Motorsports Park for the children and their families to enjoy. Additionally, the group funds hospital programs to support children through many aspects of their medical journey as well as providing unique experiences for children at Barber and other tracks across the country throughout the year.

Honorary Crew Chiefs are selected each year from patients at Children’s of Alabama to join the Racing for Children’s team, serving as special crew members and ambassadors.

Car Reveal

The car reveal event, set to take place on March 9, 2025, at Classic Car Motoring in Irondale, will feature an exciting first look at the team’s Porsche 911 GT3, engineered to compete at the highest level of Porsche motorsport racing by official team partner Kellymoss, Inc.

The livery of the Racing for Children’s car features unique, colorful handprints of children who have been treated at the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s, which encompasses more than 90 percent of all Alabama children facing such diagnoses.

The handprints provide an undeniable source of power to the team, infusing the cars with hope and an inspiration fueled drive to win the race – not just on the track – but against cancer and blood disorders. The “handprint cars” have become one of the most recognized liveries in Porsche motorsports, worldwide. And with six series champions in eight years, they command a formidable presence on the race circuit and in the paddock. All of this strengthens awareness of the platform, the cause and the children they proudly represent.

Meet the 2025 RFC Driver and Honorary Crew Chiefs

“For the three seasons before 2022, I had always raced and competed AGAINST the ‘handprint car’ that Racing for Children’s has traditionally fielded. I had grown to have a bit of a resentment towards that car simply because of its results on track! With that being said, I never knew what that car raced for and what it meant. My first opportunity to be around a few of the crew chiefs was at the Racing for Children’s unveiling event at Barber Motorsports Park before our season began in 2022,” recalls Riley Dickinson, 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup North America Pro Class Champion. “To put it simply, that day changed my life and changed my perspective on how I viewed things. Everything clicked and it all made sense.”

“Being able to represent the Racing for Children’s program has been such a great honor and I’m proud to be invited to return for the 2025 season,” offered the young Texan. “The kids that have come through our program, past and present, are truly an inspiration to everyone that has had the pleasure of being around them. To see these kids always be in the best of spirits, despite knowing what they are battling with day in and day out, it definitely puts things into perspective.”

Dickinson will meet his 2025 Honorary Crew Chiefs, Anne Phillips Arrington and Madison McIntyre, with additional support from 2023 RFC Crew Chief Harmony Cooper.

Event Details The car reveal event will be held on March 9, 2025, at Classic Car Motoring located at 3900 Grants Mill Road in Irondale, starting at 2:30 pm. Guests will have the chance to interact with the team, view the Porsche 911 GT3, all while supporting Racing for Children’s.

“Racing for Children’s is incredibly honored to partner with Classic Car Motoring,” said RFC executive director Allison Turner. “Jeff Baggett and the CCM family have long supported RFC and have graciously opened their doors to host the 2025 Car Reveal for our kids. We’re very excited to be able to celebrate this sponsorship. We all agree this event is about more than just racing or business relationships — it’s about bringing the community together for a greater cause, our kids and finding a cure for childhood cancers and blood disorders.”
