Description
Experience the Cahaba River in a whole new light—moonlight. This guided canoe trip offers a peaceful and immersive journey through the Cahaba’s calm waters under the glow of the moon and stars. As we paddle upstream, we will move quietly and attentively, allowing us to observe the sights and sounds of the river at night. After about an hour, we will pause to reflect on our discoveries, share observations, and answer questions before making our way back downstream to the boat launch.
This flat-water, out-and-back trip is designed for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Since there is no current to assist or resist our paddling, we will set a comfortable pace, ensuring that no one feels rushed or fatigued early on. Participants will put in and take out at the same location, eliminating the need for a shuttle.
In total, we will spend approximately two hours on the water, with an additional hour for setup and breakdown, making the entire experience last around three hours. This is a rare opportunity to see the Cahaba River in a way few get to experience.
