Meet the Members: Silver & Ceremony

Members, join us as we celebrate a new exhibition showcasing the craftsmanship of southern Asian silver, Silver & Ceremony from Southern Asia, 1830–1930, with an exclusive social and behind-the-scenes tour.

“We are thrilled to present this exhibition, which celebrates the exquisite craftsmanship of southern Asian silver and tells a broader story of innovation, cultural exchange, and social transformation,” said Katherine Paul, The Virginia and William M. Spencer III Curator of Asian Art. “Visitors will experience firsthand how people’s love of silver has been harnessed to promote many aspects of humanity’s aspirations and accomplishments through an artistic southern Asian lens.”

The evening will feature special remarks from Katherine Paul, offering insight into the exhibition’s curation, and Erin Croxton, Collections Photographer, who will discuss her work photographing the pieces for the exhibition catalogue.
