Meet the Mascots

With football season almost here, it is time to come Meet the Mascots at your Birmingham Zoo. Several of them have real life animals at the Zoo. Activities will be in the Children’s Zoo area. This is a rain or shine event.

Here is a preliminary list of mascots participating:

9:00 to 9:30 a.m. – Welcome from Blaze (University of Alabama at Birmingham) in front entrance

10:00 to 11:00 a.m.- Big Al (University of Alabama), Cocky (Jacksonville State), Stinger (Alabama State) and Wally (Wallace State)

11:00 a.m. to Noon – Noigel (Legion) and Babe Ruff (Barons)

Noon to 1:00 p.m.  – Briarwood Lions and Gardendale Rockets

The Chick-Fil-A cows will be around throughout the morning. Be sure to scan the Spot the Spots sign to earn a free chicken sandwich.

Mascots from across Alabama were invited. Aubie unfortunately had a conflict. We are waiting to confirm others and will update the list regularly.
