“Issues” is a series of large-scale canvases inspired by covers of iconic magazines. Artist Jourdan Truth McGowan’s thought-provoking reinterpretations of the covers are bold commentaries on culture, politics, and religion. His paintings invite viewers to engage in meaningful reflection and dialogue on the pressing challenges of our time. A reception for the artist will take place on Saturday, February 18, from 3:00 to 5:00 in the Fourth Floor Gallery. This exhibition is made possible by a grant from the Alabama Council on the Arts, awarded to the Friends Foundation of BPL.
