Homewood Library Foundation Hosts Scholastic Book Fair and Nostalgia Night to Support Summer Reading

The Homewood Library Foundation invites the community to rediscover the joy of reading while supporting the Homewood Public Library’s Summer Reading Program during the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair, taking place Wednesday, May 27 through Monday, June 1 in the Large Auditorium.

Rebecca Smith, Homewood Library Foundation President, says, “The Homewood Library Foundation Board is excited to host a Scholastic Book Fair at the Homewood Library later this month. It will bring that same joy and excitement it brings to children when these events happen at their own schools. It will also bring some nostalgia to those of us that miss that simple pleasure of childhood! All of the proceeds will support summer reading programs for eager young readers.”

Book Fair Hours

· Wednesday, Friday & Saturday: 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

· Thursday: 9:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m.

· Sunday: 2:30–5:30 p.m.

· Monday: 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

Scholastic Book Nostalgia Night

As part of the festivities, the Homewood Library Foundation will host a special Scholastic Book Nostalgia Night on Friday, May 29, from 6:30–8 p.m. in the Large Auditorium.

This adults-only evening invites guests ages 21 and up to relive childhood memories by shopping the Book Fair after hours while enjoying light hors d’oeuvres and beverages. Attendees can browse books

for Kindergarten through eighth grade, including many classic favorites that defined generations of young readers.

Whether searching for a new family favorite or revisiting beloved childhood titles, community members are encouraged to support the Homewood Public Library and help make Summer Reading even more exciting for local children and families.
