Field Trip: Shoals Creek Park (Free!) *Location changed from Tannehill*
Shoal Creek Park covers 167 acres of mostly open lands with wooded margins, with Shoal Creek running through the property. This mix of habitats offers birders both grassland and woodland species for close viewing. Blue Grosbeaks, Summer Tanagers and Indigo Buntings appear during the spring. Hawks and vultures can be seen soaring overhead year round. Chimney Swifts and Swallows should be present and Waterthrushes can be found here as well. Prairie Warblers, Chats and Common yellowthroats can be heard singing during spring.
