Determined to Be: The Sculpture of John Rhoden

Join us for a midday ArtBreak with the curators of the BMA’s latest exhibition, Determined to Be: The Sculpture of John Rhoden. The William Cary Hulsey Curator of American Art Katelyn Crawford and Curatorial Assistant Hina Zaidi will give an overview of Birmingham native John Rhoden, who received international acclaim for his work. They will discuss key works in the exhibition and his involvement in major works of public sculpture, including his sculpture of the Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth that stands outside the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.
