Current x Kwei Fei HOSTED Dinner: Southbound Food Festival

Executive Chef-Partner Luke Joseph of Birmingham’s Current Charcoal Grill is teaming up with David and Tina Schuttenberg of Charleston’s Kwei Fei and Beautiful South for a HOSTED dinner at Current as part of Southbound Food Festival on Wednesday, September 24 from 5 to 9 p.m. Blending Sichuan spice, Cantonese cooking, and Binchotan charcoal grilling, the evening will showcase a vibrant fusion of flavors and innovative techniques that celebrate these chefs’ unique styles. Highlights include Xi’an-Style Cumin Lamb Noodles (wok-crisped cumin-spiced lamb, hand-pulled wheat noodles, red onion, bell pepper, chili crisp), Shuizhu Niurou (sliced flank steak in a fermented chili bean paste broth with shiitake, bean sprout, salted cabbage, toasted garlic and ginger, Sichuan peppercorn), Sichuan Soft Serve (vanilla sundae topped with house-made chili crisp and candied Sichuan peanuts), and more.
