Celebrating Birdability Week / Shades Creek Greenway (Homewood) (Free!)
Join Alabama Audubon in celebrating Birdability Week this year from October 20-26, 2025! This week-long event is dedicated to making birding accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of ability. Alabama Audubon Ambassador Joe Watts will lead a short out-and-back walk from the parking area and down the greenway in search of late migratory birds and arriving winter birds.
The Shades Creek Greenway is a reliable place in suburbia for woodland birds as it offers water, food, and plenty of woodland space for both people and birds alike. We will travel less than half a mile total as a group along the path in search of exciting birds!
