Celebrating Birdability Week / Black Belt Driving Tour (Hale County, AL) (Free!)
Join Alabama Audubon in celebrating Birdability Week this year from October 20 – 26, 2025! This week-long event is dedicated to making birding accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of ability. Executive Director Dr. Scot Duncan, Program Coordinator Andrew Lydeard, and Black Belt Coordinator Tim Higgins will lead participants through the Barnett Lawley Forever Wild Tract in Hale County before heading out to County Roads 9 and 10 nearby. T
his is a caravan trip, so carpooling is encouraged to save gas and space at the meetup point, but not required. Participants will be provided with walkie-talkies at the beginning of the trip, so they can hear the lead vehicle.
