Are you curious about birdwatching but don’t know where to start? Join our Naturalists at Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve for Birding 101, a beginner-friendly class designed to introduce you to the essentials of birding.
What You’ll Learn:
-How to use field guides & binoculars
-Essential birding gear recommendations
-Key bird anatomy & identification tips
-How to spot and recognize common birds
After the class, we’ll take a short walk to our Habitat Garden to put our new skills to the test in the field!
-Perfect for beginners—no experience required!
-Bring binoculars if you have them (we’ll have a few to share).
-Wear comfortable shoes for a short outdoor excursion.
