What You Need to Vote

The best way to prepare for the big day is by visiting AlabamaVotes.gov.

AlabamaVotes.gov is truly your one-stop shop.

At this one site you can accomplish the following tasks:

On Election Day, polls open at 7AM and close at 7PM. If you are in line BEFORE 7PM, you can vote after that time. All voters are required to show a valid form of voter ID.

Here is a link describing the ID rules.

(MAX Transit)

In the Birmingham metro area, MAX Transit is offering free rides on Election Day, to help residents get to the polls.

The free fares will apply all day on MAX’s fixed routes, Birmingham Xpress bus rapid transit and Paratransit services. No voter registration card or proof of voting is required. Regular Paratransit eligibility requirements still apply.

MAX On-Demand riders can receive two free rides per account by entering the promo code VOTE26 in the BJCTA MAX Connect app before booking. Riders should save one ride for their return trip.

In addition to MAX Transit, the Hispanic and Immigrant Center of Alabama (HICA) offers free rides to the polls in Jefferson County. Call or text 251-383-2975 to reserve a spot.

Still have questions or need assistance on all things related to the election? Call the Alabama Secretary of State Office at 1-800-274-8683.
