Another spot for burgers, fries and shakes is coming to the Birmingham area. Shake Shack is opening a brand-new location on Highway 280 in Hoover in 2027 as part of a new mixed-use development from Terra Equities.

Shake Shack is coming to Hwy 280 in Hoover

If you’ve been craving a Shake Shack closer to home, mark your calendars for next year. The New York-founded brand, known for its burgers, crinkle-cut fries, chicken sandwiches and hand-spun shakes, is opening along one of Birmingham’s busiest retail corridors in Q1 of 2027 at 5348 Hwy 280 in Hoover.

This will be the restaurant’s third opening in the Greater Birmingham Area, joining locations at The Summit and the Shoppes at District 31 off U.S. 31 in Alabaster.

Shake Shack is just one piece of the new mixed-use development planned for Highway 280 by Terra Equities.

The development will offer a mix of restaurants, services, childcare and residential space. Here are some businesses to expect:
